Fed: Howard wishes Fahey luck with lung surgery

Prime Minister JOHN HOWARD says he expects Finance Minister JOHN FAHEY to remain in
politics despite going into hospital this week with a suspected lung tumour.

Mr FAHEY, who has been under pressure over outsourcing, is also engaged in a bitter
preselection row with fellow Liberal, ALBY SCHULTZ, over the seat of Hume.

The former New South Wales premier's electorate of Macarthur has become notionally
Labor since a redistribution, and Mr FAHEY has sought to move into Hume.
