Indiana police to flood sniper zone with patrols

As police fielded unfounded reports, several Indiana towns joinedforces Friday to saturate a highway where a potential sniper hasstruck nine times.

Investigators even took a man into custody Friday after receivinga tip, but released him later in the day.

Police said they also were considering offering a reward forinformation leading to the perpetrator, but rejected cutting downbrush and other growth that might be giving cover to the sniper.
